Neil Parsons

Mr. Neil Parsons has strived to make an impact on growing communities for more than 25 years. Born and raised in the Appalachian Mountainous region of Eastern Kentucky, Mr. Parsons works effortlessly in hopes of improving the quality of life for family, friends, and those less fortunate in the areas in which he resides. Having a background in both government and healthcare leadership, he utilized his expertise to move organizations forward, including local and state government leadership roles at the Big Sandy Areas Development District and the Governor’s Office in Kentucky. In addition, Mr. Parsons spent time in a leadership role with Highlands Health System, a regional hospital system in Eastern Kentucky. In 2015, Mr. Parsons and his family moved from Kentucky to the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Now serving as the Assistant City Manager of the City of Hardeeville for nearly eight years, he plays an instrumental part in the successful growth and development of the City. Aside from his daily duties, Mr. Parsons represents the City as a board member on various state and local nonprofits including the South Carolina Municipal Insurance & Risk Financing Fund, Technical College of the Lowcountry Foundation, Hardeeville Community Transformation Foundation, Bluffton Self Help, Lowcountry Legal Volunteers, and the Royal Live Oaks Wicks Foundation. Mr. Parsons has a Master of Public Administration degree and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree. In addition, he is a graduate of the South Carolina Economic Development Institute, the MASC Risk Management Institute, and 2023 Leadership Salkehatchie alumni. Mr. Parsons and his wife Mandy live in Bluffton. Mandy is the President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry.

 

Together they have three children who are recent college graduates.
